My project was inspired by Hailey Lawler and her research project, “An Investigation of Parental Knowledge of Prevention and At-Home Treatment of Common Minor Skin Conditions in Pediatric Dermatology.” The wooden hands represent children with minor skin conditions, while the design painted around them represents the mother’s care and affection. Many children face minor skin conditions in their lifetimes, such as bug bites, sunburns, and eczema. A mother, or any parent, cares for the child and takes care of him or her in a time of need.
