I chose Leanne Tang’s research because my sister has really struggled with ADHD. The left side of the girl represents Primary Pediatric Care (PPC), while the right side represents the Medication Monitoring Clinic (MMC). The piece is all about comparing MMC to PPC. MMC only takes four weeks, which is a lot shorter than PPC, so the right arm is shorter and only has four fingers. The left side of the girl’s dress is marked by the fire scale because of all of the stigma and complications surrounding PPC. With this piece, I hope to lower the stigma surrounding ADHD.
